Rafael Quevedo Berastain
Rafael Quevedo Berastain, also known as Ramphal, was born in Lima, Peru, in the summer of 1962. He spend his childhood in the coastal city of Trujillo (500 kilometers north of Lima), he got his bachelor degree in Industrial Engineering at Universidad de Lima (1983) and later his MBA at Universidad ESAN, Lima. He served for 25 years (1983 – 2008) in the family business where he occupied different positions in areas as production, sales & distribution, procurement, logistics, information technology, human development, finance, and finally as CEO.
Ramphal took initiation in Kriya Yoga in Lima, October 2004, by Gonesh Baba; later he met Swami Sarveshwarananda Giri (February 2005) with whom he traveled 3 times to India helping Swamiji in different tasks. In July 2005 Ramphal helped Swamiji, now Yogiji, to start "Arca del Amor Hariharananda Peru" (NGO) to serve children in need in the poor areas of Lima, and since December 2009 he collaborates as a board member in the Hariharananda Mission West. Lately (June 2011) he has finished two years in Ayurvedic training under Dr. Vasant Lad at Albuquerque, New Mexico.
He has been lovingly guided by Yogiji and Baba Raghabanandaji in his sadhana and seva, which he does as a householder; he is married and is the father of 4 children, two boys and two girls.
